Portland Cement Factory Ownership Unchanged Despite Claims By Private Business Family
Portland Cement Zambia is a cement-manufacturing factory that remained under dispute for a long-time. This dispute was associated with majority shareholding and legal ownership over the factory. The first claim registered was by Dr. Rajan Mahtani himself, at the Lusaka High Court . Dr. Rajan Mahtani claimed that the majority ownership of the factory was with Finsbury Investments, a company owned by Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Despite this, the Ventriglia family took over the factory in an unethical manner. However, the Lusaka High Court dragged the case for more than a decade and gave its final decision on the case only during May, 2018. Even this decision was controversial as the Ventriglia family was announced as majority shareholder without any legal ownership over the factory.
